Director
Hi, my name is Michaela Bennie!
I am the new Director of Parkes Early Childhood Centre.
I was born and raised in Young, NSW and moved to the area a couple of years ago. I have worked in Early Childhood for 12 years across Mobile, Long Daycare, Preschool and OOSH services. I started my career as a trainee and worked as Room Leader, Educational Leader and Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor in both Long Day Care and Out of School Hours services.
I started at PECC in November 2025 as the Room Leader of the Bilawi preschool room! I accepted the position of Director in July 2026, and I am very excited to be PECC's Centre Director as of September 2026.
I have my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, My Diploma of School Age Education and Care and I graduated from Swinburne University in August 2025 with my Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching.
I am passionate about PECC, and the values in our service philosophy are very close to my own values, which I embed in my everyday practice and interactions. I also believe that children, families and educators all deserve a sense of belonging and I strive to ensure this every day. I am proud to be PECC's new Centre Director, and I am excited to be a part of this new chapter for PECC.

I have been employed at Parkes Early Childhood Centre since October 2002. In 2006, I gained a Diploma in Children’s Services and, in 2013, graduated from Charles Sturt University after completing a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to 5 years).
In late 2024 I accepted the role as Assistant Director.
I believe that all children should experience early childhood education in a high-quality service that is rich in experiences and opportunities, and that they have the right to feel safe and nurtured both inside and outside of their home environments.
I feel an immense pride in working at Parkes Early Childhood Centre, a place with a long history of generations of families, and, for families of the future.
Kristy
Educational Leader
Hi, my name is Kristy Yeo & I am the Educational Leader at PECC. I am also the Teacher in the Bilawi Room. I have worked in the Early Childhood field for 30 years & love every day with the children, watching them grow & learn in a safe & inclusive
environment.
I have a Diploma in Children’s Services & a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to 5 years). I began working at PECC in January 2000 & stayed until 2022. During this time, I held the roles of Teacher, Room Leader, Programming Coordinator and Educational Leader. I returned to PECC in 2023 after a short break. I have taught across all age groups in both the long day care & preschool rooms.
Working in the early childhood field is my great love. My passions include: high
quality learning environments, inclusivity, play-based learning, social justice,
children’s happiness & providing learning experiences that promote the children’s wonder, delight & skills across all developmental areas.
I enjoy motivating others & promoting a sense of professionalism amongst our
dynamic team. It is an enormous privilege to be the Educational Leader & I am very proud of being part of PECC’s dedication to providing exemplary care & education for over 70 years.
