Parkes Early Childhood Centre is a community based non-profit organisation based in Parkes in the Central West of NSW and was established in October 1954 as a preschool for 3-5 year olds.

The Centre expanded in 1994 and is licensed for 86 places per day, with ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years.

PECC receives funding from both the Commonwealth and State Governments and Parkes Shire Council is a sponsor of the Centre.

PECC is managed by a voluntary committee who are elected annually from parents and interested persons.

The goal of the Centre is to support the family’s efforts to help their children acquire skills, knowledge, attitudes and sensitivities that will allow them to make the most of their potential.

Parkes Early Childhood Centre aims to provide high quality care and education through:
• More qualified staff
• Higher adult:child ratios
• Smaller group sizes

Positive and stimulating experiences are provided, fostering all aspects of early childhood development.

Fundamental to the ongoing success of the Parkes Early Childhood Centre is effective communication between the Staff, Management Committee, PECC Families and the wider community. In order to provide services that meet you and your child’s needs, the staff encourage you to discuss any thoughts, ideas or issues you may have. We are working toward the same goal – being committed to providing a secure, nurturing, positive and enriching environment for children birth to six years (PECC Philosophy).
